What does that mean? Well, in a world of Autism and behavioral interventions, where the focus tends to be on ensuring skills are developed (ABC’s, colors, shapes, states etc) we focus on what research states will ensure growth: communication + coping skills.
We believe we should focus our intervention efforts like a doctor treating a patient. If we serve learners with Autism, then we should really understand Autism.
